Service:

Samantha Leigh Berger, age 57, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026. She was born at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak on November 19, 1968.

Samantha was raised in Pleasant Ridge and graduated from Ferndale High School. She attended Western Michigan University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree and after a long career in advertising, went back to school earning a Master’s Degree in Autism Therapy from Oakland University.

Samantha’s main sport was swimming. She swam with the Ferndale High Girls swimming team and in a summer swim league with the Pleasant Ridge Piranhas. Samantha was a caring and happy girl who was deeply loved by all who knew her. She had a big smile for everyone and also a big laugh…for even the lamest jokes. She had a special love for all dogs and brought warmth and kindness to the lives of those around her.

Samantha began her career in advertising at WB Doner before pursuing her Master’s Degree. She went on to dedicate her career to helping children as a Special Education teacher in the Ferndale schools, a role she cherished until her cancer diagnosis.

Samantha is survived by her mother, Bonnie; her father, Ed; her brother, Justin; and her beloved nephews, Toryn and Celzian Berger. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former students, colleagues, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
