Patricia (Pat) Gates (nee Delidow), age 75, passed away on Wednesday May 20th 2026. Pat was a  resident of Birmingham Michigan and previously a longtime resident of Oak Park, Michigan. She graduated from Ferndale High school in 1969 as valedictorian where she received the JFK award and went on to attend Michigan State University.

A devoted church member though out her life, Pat was a member for many years at Drayton Avenue Presbyterian church in Ferndale, and she was a long time active member of St Lukes Episcopal Church (Ferndale) in earlier years, and most recently enjoyed her time as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak.

Pat loved fashion, music, and reading, but most of all she loved her friends and family. She was well known for remembering a birthday or life event by sending a well timed card to commemorate the occasion, or just to keep in touch. Most of all Pat loved her family and her proudest role by far was that of grandmother to her two cherished granddaughters Jill and Molly.

Pat was a loving mother to Kristina (David) Grubb and a devoted grandmother to Jill and Molly Grubb. She is also survived by her brother Lindley (Joyce) Delidow, beloved nephew Christopher (Arden) Delidow, and was excited to become a Great Aunt later this year. She also leaves behind many loved extended family members and friends.  She is preceded in death by her loving parents Samuel Delidow and Hazel Delidow Salton, her beloved step father William Salton, as well as her cherished nephew Brian Delidow. Although we will miss her, we take comfort in the fact that she is now reunited with those who went before her.
