Hazel L. Salton (previously Delidow, nee Osborne), age 94, passed away on Saturday January 27, 2018 after a brief illness.  Hazel was a longtime resident of Oak Park.  She was born in Marion, Ohio on November 4, 1923 and moved to the Detroit area as a teenager where she spent the rest of her life.  Hazel worked hard to give her family a good life.  She loved to spend time with friends, to garden, and to read, but she loved her family most of all and was always there for them.  She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed.

Hazel was a loving mother to Lindley (Joyce) Delidow and Patricia Gates.   She was a cherished grandmother to Kristina (David) Grubb, Brian Delidow, and Christopher (Bridget) Delidow.  She was an adoring great-grandmother or “Nana” to Gillian and Molly Grubb.  Hazel is also survived by a dear sister Inez Boring and many loving nieces and nephews.

Hazel is preceded in death by two loving husbands, Sam Delidow and C.W. Salton.  She is also preceded by her parents Lindley and Elizabeth Osborne as well as her siblings Mildred, Gladys, Clifford, Marguerite, Helen, Bud, and Bill and many friends, all of whom we are hoping she is reunited with now.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

MEMORIES

I have alot of fond memories of my Aunt Hazel. It is a honor to be named after her for my middle name . I am so thankful that we had the opportunity to visit with her on our trips back to Michigan. She was a very special lady and i will miss her .

When he said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: Lazarus, come out! 44:The man who had been dead came out with his hands and feet bound with wrappings, and his face was wrapped with cloth. Jesus said to them: "Free him and let him go."
