MEMORIES

Chrissy attended MCCDetroit for the last time two Sundays ago. At that time we exchanged greeting and hugs. "Hugging is prayer," she said to me as a blessing. It was clear that she was happy to be "at home" with her church family. For over a year it was also a blessing for me to be in her company and that of her partner Michelle at the at Connection Group Home weekly Wednesday nights. She was a courageous woman, Biblically well read and her observations and comments were always insightful and moving. As were her prayers for others with health and financial issues,

Dear Chrissy - always a smile and always flirtatious in the most playful of ways. Your photo gifts were always a surprise but always made me smile. We will miss your cane tapping and proud smile every time you walked through the doors of your beloved MCC. Your place is well earned up above, but has happened far too soon....your pain is gone but our hearts are broken. Rest In Peace.

I remember Chrissy as being a very conscientious believer and member of MCC Detroit. She was quiet, yet observant and no doubt would share her wisdom when warranted. I did not know Chrissy as well as others at MCC Detroit, but when taking my photo for MCCD's social media site she guaranteed to make my best side look good. I pray that all who knew her value the lesson's learned and the special times shared. May she now know what she could only imagine and find restful peace in the Savior's arms.

To the Surewater family: Please accept my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy on the loss of your dear loved one. Death is such a tragedy for all of us, and when it touches us personally, it’s sometimes difficult to find the comfort that we search for. Our loving Heavenly Father Jehovah, who is the the God of all comfort, feels empathy for those who have lost a loved one in death, and therefore promises to swallow up death forever and eliminate all pain suffering. (Please read Revelation 21:4 and Isaiah 25:8) As you read the above texts in your Bible, may they give you hope and comfort during this most difficult time. Again, my deepest sympathy. David Cowles
